However, it’s worth noting that there are some issues with these papers. Firstly, there are several printing errors present. Another drawback is that each paper comprises 3 to 5 pages, leading to a significant increase in paper-related costs for schools.

Official Notification Regarding SBA First Term Exam 2023 and Guidelines for How to Generate SBA Papers

Punjab Examination Commission Lahore has issued the following official notification regarding the conduct of SBA first term 2023 in all Govt. Schools of Punjab;

HOW TO GENERATE SBA PAPERS | SBA FIRST TERM 2023

Estimated Cost of SBA First Term 2023 Exam

Let’s consider a hypothetical scenario where a school has an enrollment of 850 students spanning from class 3 to class 8, with a total of 8 subjects. Each assessment paper consists of 3-5 pages, and the photocopy cost per page ranges from Rs. 5 to Rs. 7.

Let’s consider a hypothetical scenario where a school has an enrollment of 850 students spanning from class 3 to class 8, with a total of 8 subjects. Each assessment paper consists of 3-5 pages, and the photocopy cost per page ranges from Rs. 5 to Rs. 7.

The total cost of photocopying all the assessment papers after downloading them would be:

850 (students) x 8 (subjects) x 3-5 (pages per paper) x Rs. 7 (maximum photocopy cost per page) = Rs. 238,000.

On the other hand, if the photocopy cost per page is Rs. 5, the total cost of photocopying for all students would be:

850 (students) x 8 (subjects) x 3-5 (pages per paper) x Rs. 5 (minimum photocopy cost per page) = Rs. 170,000.

According to government or PEC policy, school-based assessments (SBA) will be conducted three times a year. Therefore, the normal cost of papers for the year would be:

Rs. 238,000 (cost of photocopying per assessment) x 3 (number of times conducted) = Rs. 714,000.

How to Meet Expenses for SBA First Term 2023 Exam

The question then arises: Can a high school afford this cost, especially considering the separate issue of electricity expenses? WAPDA charges commercial rates from schools and in a high school, approximately 100 ceiling fans and 100 electric lights are used during school hours. Additionally, electric pumps and tube wells, as well as water filtration plants, are in operation in government schools. This raises concerns about the school’s ability to cover these substantial costs, particularly from NSB.
